Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige and others are reportedly disliking the current state of the Charlie Cox-led Daredevil: Born Again series as new production info has been revealed by The Hollywood Reporter.
Details have been shared that Feige and his executive team over at Marvel Studios have quietly fired the reboot series’ head writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman due to the episodes that have been shot so far not going down well.
It’s also noted that the studio has let go of all of the series’ directors for the remainder of the season’s production as they are now planning on a significant creative reboot of the series.
Daredevil: Born Again Reboot-Reboot Details
As detailed by The Hollywood Reporter, the studio is now on the lookout to hire new writers and directors for the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe series for Disney’s streamer.
Daredevil: Born Again is one of the studio’s most anticipated streaming series to date, as it comes after an already successful run from Netflix pre-Disney acquiring the rights back.
According to the new report, Cox’s Matt Murdock doesn’t even suit up as Daredevil until the fourth episode of Daredevil: Born Again despite his Daredevil already being extremely well established now in both its original Netflix fanbase and MCU viewers due to She-Hulk.
It’s said that the new series “did not resemble the Netflix version” at all, something that would not go down well with the original fanbase who have been vocal about this since the reboot was initially announced to be happening.
Netflix’s version of the Cox-led Daredevil featured mature action and violence, among other mature tones, and worked extremely well alongside its sibling shows such as The Punisher and Jessica Jones.
One fear that has been present among the MCU fan community is that Disney would take more of a family-friendly spin on the character, something that Cox’s appearance in She-Hulk heightened.
However, Born Again stars such as Cox and Kingpin actor Vincent D’Onofrio have somewhat attempted to provide their anticipating fans with hope that the reboot will work.
Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case as Marvel Studios has already pulled the plug on its current state and is preparing for its second phase of development and production.
