Marvel Studios has reportedly cast somebody as Ben Grimm aka the Thing for the 2025 Fantastic Four movie, however, no name has been shared as of yet.
This news came directly from the mouth of Jeff Sneider while talking with John Rocha on The Hot Mic with Jeff Sneider and John Rocha.
Their latest episode of the industry scoop-filled series featured multiple Fantastic Four movie details that all reportedly come from trusted sources.
One detail is about Marvel Studios’ Thing, and despite no actual name being shared, some reported details were provided by Sneider.
Marvel Studios’ Thing Casting Details
According to Sneider, known for sharing many inside tips in the past, Marvel Studios are looking to cast an “overweight” white male to play Ben Grimm.
Alongside this information came details that the MCU studio will also be looking for a relatively younger actor, somewhere between their late 20s to mid-30s.
However, it should be noted that although Sneider is confident with his information, he also confirmed that he has no idea who has been cast as the Thing.
Just that the Thing has reportedly been cast for Fantastic Four prior to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes commencing.
Ebon Moss-Bachrach “Not” Playing The Thing?
Despite online rumours from early last month claiming that Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Bear, The Punisher) had been cast as the Thing, Sneider had to say otherwise.
According to the inside scooper, Moss-Bachrach has not been cast as Ben Grimm but has still reportedly got a quick role in the 2025 reboot.
Potential spoilers: Details from Sneider claim that The Bear star will be introduced during the events of the Fantastic Four movie sometime during the ending.
Speculation, from Sneider himself, has it that Moss-Bachrach will most “likely” be starring as none other than the iconic Marvel character, the Silver Surfer.
Note that none of this information has been officially announced by the cast and crew of Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four movie, so stay tuned for updates.
Fantastic Four is scheduled to release on February 14, 2025.
