The first 4 episodes of Marvel Studios’ MPower are now streaming on Disney+. The miniseries “salutes the Marvel women, onscreen and off, who have brought our iconic heroes to life.” It’s release was confirmed last month, in February 2022 via Disney Plus’ March streaming announcment.
The series was first confirmed to be in development all the way back in June 2021, when Marvel announced a casting call for an upcoming series, which would feature the Super Heroes we know onscreen, the brilliant minds who work tirelessly offscreen, and a few incredible fans of the powerful women of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The title of the series is a play on the word “Empower”, just making it Marvel-centric without changing the essence of the word itself.
The series is directed by Quinn Wilson, and executive produced by Victoria Alonso, Mark Herzog, Andie Beckerman, Zoe Saldaña, Cisely Saldaña, Mariel Saldaña, Justin W. Hochberg, Lauren Moore Morden, Jeff Redmond, Sarah Girgis; Lauren Goralski serves as co-producer. The series comes from production companies Herzog & Co., Cinestar Pictures, and Just Entertainment.
