Exclusive: Whether you’re part of the Stump Kids, the Sewer Kids, the Elders, or just a visitor to the Creek, there’s some excitement to go around as Craig of the Creek‘s upcoming origin movie is ever closer to coming out this year!
In January 2022, Deadline reported that the Emmy, GLAAD, and NAACP Image Award-nominated series Craig of the Creek would be getting its own movie in addition to the animated pre-school spin-off, Jessica’s Big Little World, which follows Craig Williams’ (Philip Solomon) younger sister Jessica (Lucia Cunningham).
While details of the movie remain under wraps, Craig of the Creek: The Movie is set to follow Craig’s start as the new kid in town, homesick about his old house and life. However, his life gets turned around as he embarks on a wild adventure involving treasure maps, pirates, and a new threat to the Creek.
In our exclusive interview for Jessica’s Big Little World, CoveredGeekly’s Christopher Gallardo got to talk with Craig of the Creek co-creator Matt Burnett about what’s awaiting for our new kid on the block in Craig of the Creek: The Movie.
You’re gonna get to see Craig, Kelsey (Noël Wells), and J.P. (H. Michael Croner) in ways you haven’t seen them on the show and learn about a new dynamic in their relationship and it has lots of big adventure and pirates! It’s got pirates in it, maybe it’s got pirates in it.
MATT BURNETT, Co-creator
In addition, Jessica’s voice actress, Lucia Cunningham adds on with her reaction to Craig of the Creek: The Movie and the popularity behind the series:
It’s crazy to see that everyone who’s been coming together to make this work, putting in their effort into this to make it something we all love, to see the reaction that people have even though it hasn’t come out yet and they’re excited for it: it just makes me really happy.
People are really excited for this, they want to see more Jessica and they want to see more of everyone’s work and I feel like that’s really cool for all of us.

Hopefully, fans can expect to see Craig and his friends in the next few months as they make their way to new lands in Cartoon Network’s upcoming film. With Matt Burnett and Ben Levin at the helm alongside Tiffany Ford, it looks like the stories of the Creek might happily continue after all.
