Former Doctor Who star Matt Smith has reportedly been offered to play Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic in Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four movie.
Many names have floated the web as of late to be in talks for the highly anticipated character, one recently being Star Wars star Adam Driver (House of Gucci), among many more names from rumours to fan castings.
Matt Smith Set To Play MCU’s Reed Richards?
According to the online industry scooper Daniel Richatman aka Daniel RPK, Matt Smith was offered the role of Reed Richards prior to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike commencing and stopping all SAG-related work.
Interestingly, it is noted that it is currently unknown if Smith had responded to the offer, potentially meaning Smith has yet to decide if he will say yes or no.
It should also be noted that offers for roles in huge titles such as the Fantastic Four movie are often sent out to multiple people throughout development.
When Will Marvel Studios Announce Fantastic Four Cast?
Due to the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, announcements such as castings won’t be coming anytime soon from major Hollywood studios.
Once the strikes come to a resolution, only then will the cast and crew of titles such as the Fantastic Four movie be able to resume development/production.
Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four is scheduled to release on February 14, 2025.
