This article contains spoilers for Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse – read with your own caution.
- Across The Spider-Verse’s Donald Glover Cameo Setup
- How Old Is Miles Morales In The MCU?
- Who Is Playing The Live-Action Miles Morales?
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse added to the now six-year setup for a live-action Miles Morales to debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This started when Donald Glover starred as Aaron Davis in Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Homecoming.
As many Spidey fans will know, Aaron Davis is the uncle of Miles Morales and brother to Morales’ father Jefferson Davis. His presence is more prominent in the animated Spider-Verse movies where he also plays the villain Prowler voiced by Mahershala Ali.
On top of Glover’s MCU identity being confirmed during Homecoming, the deleted scene also shows his Aaron Davis namedropping “Miles” as he speaks on the phone to him while being stuck to his car due to Holland’s Spider-Man webbing him up.
Across The Spider-Verse’s Donald Glover Cameo Setup
Donald Glover appears as the live-action Aaron Davis in full Prowler form during the events of Sony’s animated Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. This may have just seemed like a nod to the fans at first glance but is in fact a much larger setup.
Sony’s Amy Pascal confirmed that a live-action Miles Morales project is in the works which is incredibly exciting when considering the events of Across the Spider-Verse. The Into the Spider-Verse sequel includes not just one but two live-action cameos. One being Glover’s and the other being Mrs Chen from the Tom Hardy Venom universe.
It’s safe to say that Sony and Marvel Studios don’t have any plans to stop their wider Spider-Man universe anytime soon. It’s also safe to assume for now that Donald Glover will be starring as the live-action Aaron Davis once again in the MCU alongside the long-awaited debut of the live-action Miles Morales.
How Old Is Miles Morales In The MCU?
What makes Glover’s “Miles” Morales namedrop increasingly interesting over the years is the various time jumps that the franchise has gone through since such as the five-year snap seen in Avengers: Endgame.
Miles Morales’ first namedrop was set in 2016 despite Homecoming being released in 2017 with newer MCU projects now being set during the months of 2025-2026 such as seen in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. This is around a ten-year gap since Morales’ first namedrop in the Homecoming deleted scene.
It’s impossible to say how old Miles Morales was during the events of Homecoming, however, he was old enough to speak to his uncle properly on the phone. He could have been 6 now being 16 or maybe even 16 and now 26, it’s up to the writers at this point.
Who Is Playing The Live-Action Miles Morales?
Sony and Marvel Studios have yet to announce who has been cast as the live-action Miles Morales but there is one who has been more vocal than the rest as of late. The voice of the animated Spider-Verse Miles Morales himself, Shamiek Moore.
Taking into account the current timeline of the MCU and the potential that the live-action MCU Miles Morales could be in his 20s now. It could very well be Moore who takes on the role, however, besides Moore himself being vocal about wanting the part – nothing has been confirmed as of writing this article.

For reference, Moore and Holland are roughly the same age and if Miles Morales survived Thanos’ snap in Avengers: Infinity War then he could very well be around the same age as Holland’s Peter Parker – depending on how the writers spin it.
