Marvel Studios’ Moon Knight on Disney Plus is now three episodes in, as of me writing this, with a fourth episode on the way. The series has been hitting well with MCU fans as the series delivers some of the best work to come out of the MCU yet. Plus the introduction of such a complex entertaining character has been the highlight in many fans’ minds.
Although Oscar Isaac has had two prominent roles so far, a third may be on the way. I advise reading this first for spoilers on episode three of Moon Knight unless you are all clued up.
A popular storyline from the comics, Lunatic, has been teased in various teasers, trailers, and spots. Now, a recent spot for the show teases to expect this storyline in episode 4 of the series.
What Happens In Moon Knight’s Lunatic Comic?
The events of Marvel Comics’ Moon Knight: Lunatic are very interesting. Plus it ties quite nicely into what is happening in the show right now.
During the events of this comic, Marc Spector wakes up in an asylum for the mentally insane. He awakes to have no abilities and a lifetime supply of medical records proving he has been there for years. This plays well with episode three as Steven Grant did lose his powers. Not that it was Steven’s fault, plus Steven and Konshu knew this would happen anyway.
Steven then passing out during the finale of episode three will tie nicely into an opening for the Lunatic storyline.
Will Jake Lockley Appear In Episode 4?
One of the most interesting points to consider when asking about the Lunatic live-action adaptation is will Jake Lockley appear?
If you read the description alone from this comic issue, you will find: “When he wakes up in an insane asylum with no powers and a lifetime’s worth of medical records, his whole identity (identities) are called into question.”.
Judging by the description, it seems very likely that the live-action Jake Lockley (Oscar Isaac) will appear during the Lunatic events. Plus, the countless hints and clues of Jake’s upcoming appearance were made so evident during episode 3.
Just imagine James McAvoy’s Split character crossed with Moon Knight, that is probably what this episode is going to feel like. Which I have no problem with the slightest, do you?!
