Tati Gabrielle (You, The 100) is officially in final talks to star as the live-action Jade in Warner Bros. Pictures’ Mortal Kombat 2, the sequel to the 2021 movie Mortal Kombat, alongside Karl Urban who has been confirmed to be on board to star as the live-action Johnny Cage.
THR broke the news of Gabrielle’s casting today Friday, May 19th, describing the character Jade as “an assassin who is a friend and bodyguard to the character known as Princess Kitana.” Something that fans of the game series will already be familiar with, of course.
Jade was originally introduced to the game series as a hidden character in Mortal Kombat II, which could be the sole reason why she will be appearing in the second live-action instalment, and could also confirm the full roster for the sequel.

However, characters such as Jax Briggs and Kung Lao were also introduced for the first time in Mortal Kombat II, among others who have already been established in the live-action franchise, so it’s safe to assume that anyone could be showing up.
Mortal Kombat 2 does not yet have a confirmed release date.
