Netflix has cancelled the live-action series Shadow and Bone after two seasons along with cancelling fellow live-action show Glamorous and adult animated comedies Agent Elvis, Farzar and Captain Fall.
Deadline exclusively shared news Wednesday, November 15 that the streamer decided to axe the various titles a week after the SAG-AFTRA strike came to an end and a month and a half after the WGA’s strike.

It’s noted that networks and platforms are currently evaluating the impact of the “strike-related seven-month production shutdown”, seemingly hence why there are sudden cancellations.
Another factor that comes into play is how well a series performs, in regards to when networks and platforms evaluate if additional seasons will be renewed – something that has been publicly said various times in the past.
Netflix Cancels 5 Shows Amid Strikes
Captain Fall has been axed amid its first season on Netflix – it’s an animated series that was initially picked up for 20 episodes by the streaming platform that would air in two parts during season 1.
Netflix decided to cancel the animated series after its Part 1 had finished premiering its episodes, due to it failing to draw enough viewers to the platform.
Shadow and Bone is credibly the most talked about series amidst the new axed titles, a live-action series inspired by Leigh Bardugo’s bestselling Grishaverse novels.
Its second season premiered back in March, however, its viewership and impact on the platform declined compared to its predecessor season – a likely factor as to why it was cancelled, as per Deadline.

Farzar, an adult animated comedy that dropped last year in July, has also been cancelled.
Created by Norsemen creators Jon Iver Helgaker and Jonas Torgersen, Captain Fall has also been cancelled over at Netflix – also an adult animated comedy series.
