Fans both old and new to the One Piece world have had one question on their minds since Netflix aired its episodes, will there be a second season?
Well, in a recent interview with Deadline, Tomorrow Studios producers Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements provided some surprising details as to how long they expect the new live-action series adaptation to last on Netflix.
One Piece Producers Want 12 Seasons
While talking to Deadline, Adelstein said that both himself and Clements “have been involved in a lot of successful shows,” but added that One Piece is a show that producers “dream” of.
Netflix is famously known for its high count of cancelled series projects, most of the time due to performance in terms of how well they do with streaming numbers.

However, with One Piece being an instant smash hit, producer Adelstein has revealed their “hopes for 12 seasons” due to their being “so much [source] material.”
It’s no secret that One Piece is one of the most, if not the most, developed mangas of all time due to its extensive world-building storylines, character-developing arcs, and various arc-filled sagas, among its vast lore.
The anime series alone consists of a whopping 1000+ episodes, with each episode lasting between 20 to 25 minutes long, making the entire runtime somewhere over 25,000 minutes.
