Its original creator Eiichiro Oda announced the news himself in a pre-recorded video now available to watch on the official One Piece Netflix social media accounts.
Additionally, Oda also teased that the fan-favourite Straw Hat crew member known as Tony Tony Chopper will be joining the series for season two.
Although it was expected that multiple seasons were in store for the series, Netflix is known for cancelling titles that don’t perform well in terms of streaming stats.
However, the live-action One Piece has become a worldwide smash hit with both fans of the original manga and anime alongside new fans who are exploring the world of the Straw Hats for the very first time.

“It seems people around the world have been enjoying the show, which makes the hard work from the production team truly worth it.”
“To everyone who’s been a fan of One Piece for years, and to those who experienced One Piece for the first time, thank you so much.”
“Two weeks after the launch, I just received some great news… Netflix has decided to renew the show! [for a second season]”
“The adventures of Iñaki [Godoy] and the live-action Straw Hats will continue onward! It’ll still take a while to get the scripts ready so please be patient.”
“From here on, it seems to me the Straw Hats will need a great doctor… we will see! [teases Tony Tony Chopper]”
