Confirmed! Tim Burton and Netflix will officially be introducing a new Addams family member in the second season of Wednesday starring Jenna Ortega.
The news was confirmed via a pre-recorded message at this year’s live “TUDUM” which is Netflix’s big event to showcase all of their current and upcoming projects such as Extraction 2, Heart of Stone, Heartstopper, and Wednesday.

Despite the confirmation that a new Addams family member will be coming to the series, the cast revealed that they don’t yet know who it will be exactly. Cast members Joy Sunday, Hunter Doohan, Emma Myers, and Jenna Ortega all had some ideas as to who they would like to see join the show’s roster.

Sunday, Doohan, and Myers all seemed to be in agreement that Grandmama Addams would be a good choice whereas Ortega showed more fondness for Cousin Itt. Both characters are iconic Addams family members and are a must-have for any Addams family project – especially for one that focused solely on Wednesday.
Which Addams Will Be In Wednesday Season 2?
We can already rule out Uncle Fester and Lurch as they were both introduced during the events of the first season of Netflix’s Wednesday.
It’s interesting that the cast namedropped Cousin Itt and Grandmama Addams as they are both the first and really only two names that come to mind. Unless Tim Burton has plans to create an all-new original Addams character exclusive for Wednesday.
However, the tease alone gives off the feeling that the new addition will be a familiar one, which would maybe be the safest option for the team behind the show.
Could Grandmama Addams join the roster? Could Anjelica Huston (The Addams Family, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum) be joining the cast to now star as Grandmama instead of Wednesday’s Morticia Addams? Fans will just have to wait and see.
