An unlisted featurette for Marvel Studios’ Ant Man And The Wasp: Quantumania, titled “Introducing Cassie” was spotted by fans online.
Kathryn Newton will be taking on the role of Cassie Lang after Emma Fuhrmann portrayed her for a brief moment in Avengers: Endgame. Paul Rudd says that “It was fun watching Kathryn take on Cassie.”
Kathryn Newton, who plays Cassie, says the character “wants to change the world”, and that she wants “to impress” Scott after his 5-year absence from Earth between the events of Ant-Man And The Wasp and Avengers: Endgame.
“Cassie Lang wants to change the world. She likes the chaos, she wants to be fighting, and she wants to be in the middle of it.”
“She’s being influenced by these superheroes around her. She just wants to be a superhero like her dad. She wants to impress him.”
Michelle Pfeiffer was full of praise for Kathryn, saying that “She just shows up and she’s just got it.”
Jonathan Majors exclaimed “The buoyant energy of her character is so great!”

How Bill Murray Joined The MCU In ‘Quantumania’
Speaking on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Kathryn Newton revealed that Bill Murray once called her up and asked her “if it was okay [he] joined ‘Ant-Man'” While it’s obvious that isn’t how you get a casting deal, Kathryn responded to him with “Yeah Bill, that’s cool with me,” but “maybe there’s someone else to talk to.”
“A couple months later my mom’s like, ‘Kathryn, I have Bill Murray for you.’ I’m like, what? Bill Murray? She’s like, ‘Yeah, um here.’ And he’s like, ‘Kathryn, I’ve been thinking, I think I want to join the Marvel Universe and I was just going to ask you if it was okay if I joined ‘Ant-Man’.”
Ant Man And The Wasp: Quantumania releases in theaters on February 17, 2023.
