A new “pre-production demo reel” for Blumhouse’s live-action feature adaptation of the popular video game series Five Nights at Freddy’s has mysteriously been discovered online.
In the footage, two people can be seen talking to each other, one of which reportedly being Abby who will be played by Piper Rubio (Crater) in the actual FNAF movie.
The other character is Abby’s “babysitter” named “Max”, as reported by @JonnyBlox. Kat Conner Sterling (A Week Away) will be starring as Max in the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie, so it’s safe to assume that this is her character.
However, it should be noted that it is also not Sterling seen in the pre-production demo reel for the movie, just somebody playing the character for a demo reel.

Rubio’s Abby has been teased to play a major part in the upcoming story, as shown during the official trailer, she can be seen amidst the chaos alongside Josh Hutcherson’s Mike Schmidt facing off against Freddy Fazbear and his animatronic gang.
Blumhouse’s FNAF movie character Abby has been long reported to be the younger sister of Hutcherson’s Mike Schmidt, who Mike eventually needs to look after while working night shifts due to having issues with finding her a babysitter.

Something this scene seems to add further evidence of, you can watch the video below via the YouTube channel @friez, originally posted by @JonnyBlox on X aka Twitter.
See below for a line-by-line text version of the dialogue played above.
Max: “Nice drawing. Oh, this cool girl looks familiar, who are these punks?”
Abby: “My friends. It’s not done yet.”
Max: “Right, you can finish later, it’s time to eat.”
Abby: “I’m not hungry.”
Max: “I don’t care, let’s go [pulls Abby’s drawing away]“
Abby: “No!”
Max: “Abs, the day I’m having, just please come eat some dinner?”
Abby: “[Looks at Max] You’re sitting on my friend, move.”
Max: “Abby, there’s no one here.”
Abby: “He doesn’t like you now.”
Max: “You know what? Do whatever the hell you want. I don’t care, but you should know what happens to little kids who don’t eat their dinners. They stop growing and their bodies stay the same size forever.”
Abby: “Awesome, sounds fun.”
Max: “It does, except everything else keeps getting older, their skin shrivels up and their hair falls out and they die without ever getting to ride the adult rides at the amusement park.”
Abby: “My friend says you’re an idiot.”
Max: “At least I’m real.”
Who Is Abby’s “Friend” Supposed To Be?
It’s fairly safe to assume that Abby’s “friend” in this newly discovered Five Nights at Freddy’s movie demo reel is none other than Golden Freddy, not to be confused with the main and typically sinister Freddy Fazbear.
Golden Freddy and Abby are seemingly allies in the upcoming movie, the two can even be seen sitting happily side by side in the back of a taxi driven by Corey Kenshin. Judging by this demo reel, Blumhouse’s team have set Golden Freddy to be involved with Piper’s Abby before she even arrives at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.
It’s currently unclear which direction the live-action adaptation is heading with in terms of how Golden Freddy is involved. One thing that is clear, however, is that he seems to have a strong connection with Rubios’ character Abby. Enough of a connection, at least, to potentially sense that she is somehow connected to the schemes set by Matthew Lillard’s William Afton.
The rest of the pre-production demo scene speaks for itself, Abby seems to be set to be the first character in the movie to connect with the souls trapped inside the eerie animatronics. Is her “friend” an ally or is there something sinister more at play here? If the movie itself has a vibe remotely close to this demo reel then FNAF fans are in store for a high-quality and impressive Blumhouse horror.
Blumhouse’s live-action Five Nights at Freddy’s releases in both theatres and on Peacock on October 27, 2023.
