Marvel Studios has released new official character posters for each Guardians of the Galaxy team member one month ahead of the release of their third GOTG instalment entitled Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which releases in theatres on May 5, 2023.
This new instalment will mark the third official instalment for the franchise, besides the Holiday Special released last year in 2022 on Disney Plus or the various appearances from the franchise’s characters in projects such as Avengers: Infinity War, Thor: Love and Thunder.
New Character Posters For ‘GOTG VOL. 3’ Revealed
You can see all the new character posters below, with each poster highlighting certain character aspects plus showing off the new team suit design that gives off a far more comic-accurate feel to the movie adaptation.
Star-Lord, played by Chris Pratt (The Lego Movie, Jurassic World), is one out of many characters to receive a brand new poster, with Star-Lord holding what appears to be his new music device with a somewhat larger hand than normal.
Bradley Cooper’s Rocket the Racoon is next to get a brand new poster, with Rocket, as usual, showing off some form of weaponry that he has probably invented from scratch just as seen in previous instalments of the franchise – ohhhh… yeahhhhh.
Karen Gillan’s Nebula sits and stares through the poster with the typical menacing glare that Nebula typically gives off on screen, being one of the fan’s favourite characters since her first appearance in the first Guardians of the Galaxy.
Pom Klementieff rocks it as Mantis in her official character poster, a character who can take empathy to a whole new level as she harnesses abilities that allows her to essentially read your emotions and also control them when she feels she needs to.
Director James Gunn’s brother Sean Gunn plays Kraglin once more in the Guardians’ third outing, somebody who seems to be fitting nicely into his new role since the passing of Michael Rooker’s Yondu, with Kraglin even bearing Yondu’s head piece.
I AM GROOT! – The ultimate fan favourite, Groot, voiced by Vin Diesel, returns once again in the new adventure, appearing to be much more grown-up as opposed to the younger versions that fans have seen since the final events of the first film.
Zoe Saldana dives out of the Avatar waters this year to return once again as Gamora, except this time round, Gamora will have no memory of her Guardians team members as she is from an earlier point in time due to the events of Avengers: Endgame.
Dave Bautista will be starring as Drax the Destroyer once again, however, Bautista has somewhat confirmed that this will be his last outing as the character for the Marvel Cinematic Universe – with fans speculating that he may be killed off this time round.
Lastly, we have Cosmo, the telepathic dog from the comics, who has had some brief cameos in previous MCU projects such as the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie, who now seems to be an official part of the franchise – whoo!
The cast includes Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Sean Gunn, Sylvester Stallone, Will Poulter, Chukwudi Iwuji, among many more talented cast members who help bring the pages from the comics to the live-action realm of Hollywood.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 comes to theatres on May 5, 2023.
