Marvel Studios’ upcoming Daredevil reboot Daredevil: Born Again will begin filming sometime in early 2023, with details on the 18-episode series being kept tightly under wraps so far. However, Vincent D’Onofrio has been giving away some little key pieces of information via his Twitter account lately, responding to a fan who was under the impression that filming had already started.
In the thread of the same tweet mentioned above, D’Onofrio has responded to yet another fan, this time being more focused on the tone of the series – and how it might compare to the Netflix adaptation of the character[s]. D’Onofrio is no stranger to using Twitter as a personal outlet for his thoughts and updates, and he may become the primary source for solid updates during the filming of Daredevil: Born Again.

Twitter user @sgtcolt wrote in response to an earlier tweet from D’Onofrio: “Good luck and I hope it will be even more badass than @stevendeknight‘s, but from what I heard in terms of the direction it is going, I have my doubts.”.
Which D’Onofrio kindly responded to the fan of the franchise: “It’s going to be very very cool. Very different than the Netflix show which was as we know was amazing…”, confirming that the rebooted version won’t be anything like the three seasons plus spin-offs that shown these characters in a much darker and realistic tone.
D’Onofrio continued to say: “Yet this is brand new and really smart. We are going to surprise everyone with it. And yes it’s going to be really cool.”. This may be reassuring for some fans, because if Kingpin himself approves of the new show, then maybe it will still have some of that dark and gritty quality that fans grew to love during the Netflix run.

The appearance of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, and Matt Murdock, in Marvel Studios’ Disney Plus series She-Hulk already set the expectations of a completely different version of the character for his MCU future. Cox has stated in the past, however, that the comedic tone seen in She-Hulk won’t necessarily be what we see in Daredevil: Born Again.
Daredevil: Born Again is set to release sometime in 2024 on Disney Plus.
