The third season of Disney Plus’ extremely successful Star Wars series ‘The Mandalorian’ is just under two months away from being able to stream to our heart’s content. It’s been almost half a decade since the Mandalorian first debuted on our screens, played by the equally as successful actor Pedro Pascal.
During the show’s run, they managed to finally build the opportunity to bring fan favourite Star Wars character back into live-action, the infamous assassin known as Boba Fett. Which then became another series known as The Book of Boba Fett, a spin-off to The Mandalorian, instantly setting the ground for the Mandoverse to expand even further.
We even got to see characters such as Ahsoka come into a big live-action Star Wars universe, who is also getting her own show, played by the very talented Rosario Dawson. Now, according to a recent report from Daniel RPK’s Patreon, the next spin-off might already be in development, with a mysterious clue attached.
The New Details
In the recent rumour, it mentions that Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau have already begun development on the next instalment to the ever-expanding Mandalorian universe.
Although no details on what the new series will be based on were provided by the rumour, there was additional information that the show’s current codename is ‘Ghost 17’.
This codename will sound somewhat familiar to any Star Wars fan who watched the Rebels animated series, which features a ship called “Ghost” that is piloted by the Twi’lek known as Hera Syndulla.
Considering that Hera Syndulla has been rumoured in the past to be appearing in the Ahsoka series, this could mean we will be getting even more ‘Rebels’ in the Mandoverse sooner than we thought. However, that is all just speculation as this is still technically just a rumour, fortunately, Favreau and Filoni seem to be set on continuing to build on the Mandolorian’s legacy.
The Mandalorian Season 3 is set to premiere on March 1st, 2023.
