Netflix has dropped the latest trailer of Pain Hustlers starring Emily Blunt (The Devil Wears Prada, A Quiet Place) and Chris Evans (Knives Out, Avengers: Endgame).
The Netflix Film is based on real-life events and follows Blunt and Evans as pharmaceutical sales representatives selling opioids.
The crime thriller is helmed by David Yates, renowned for Harry Potter.

The Pain Hustlers trailer introduces Liza Drake (Emily Blunt) who aims to improve her and her daughter’s financial situation. She persuades Pete Brenner (Chris Evans) to hire her at his pharmaceutical sales company. Liza learns that commissions from prescription sales are the path to prosperity in this field.
Liza quickly rises in the industry and recruits her own team. But as they become more successful, they attract the FBI’s attention. As her wealth grows, Liza begins to question her moral choices.
Pain Hustlers Synopsis
David Yates’ film is based on Evan Hughes’ 2022 book, Pain Hustlers: Crime and Punishment at an Opioid Startup. In the film, Blunt plays the role of a single mother who faces financial hardships while working as a stripper. Her life takes an unexpected turn when a generous customer, played by Chris Evans, gives her an offer to become a pharmaceutical representative specializing in fentanyl.

Liza Drake (Emily Blunt) is a blue-collar single mom who has just lost her job and is at the end of her rope. A chance meeting with pharmaceutical sales rep Pete Brenner (Chris Evans) puts her on an upwards trajectory economically but dubious path ethically as she becomes entangled in a dangerous racketeering scheme. Dealing with her increasingly unhinged boss (Andy Garcia), the worsening medical condition of her daughter (Chloe Coleman), and a growing awareness of the devastation the company is causing forces Liza to examine her choices.

The film is written by Wells Tower, known for The True American, and produced by Lawrence Grey under his Grey Matter Productions banner in collaboration with Wychwood Pictures.
Netflix acquired Pain Hustlers for approximately $50 million during the 2022 Cannes Film Festival market.
Pain Hustlers premieres in select theaters on October 20, 2023, and will be available on Netflix from October 27, 2023.
