James Gunn recently announced that he is working on bringing a new Superman movie into the Warner Bros. DC universe of projects entitled Superman: Legacy, set to feature a new actor in the iconic suit, with Henry Cavill now out of the picture.
Although the official confirmation of the project has been made, no casting information has been revealed as of yet, mostly due to the movie being in the early days of development.
However, Nicolas Cage recently shared a positive reaction to the idea of him playing Jor-El, aka the biological father to Superman, during an interview with Nestor Cine for Cage’s upcoming flick Renfield.
During the interview, Cine told Cage that he would love to see him portray Superman’s father Jor-El in James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy, to which Cage responded quite positively, whilst seemingly showing a sudden interest in the potential casting.
“Oh, Jor-El, that’s a good one, I hadn’t thought of that, that’s not bad.”
