CoveredGeekly got to see some exclusive Five Nights at Freddy’s footage at this year’s New York Comic Con where Blumhouse’s Jason Blum brought the movie’s director Emma Tammi to talk about all things FNAF.
Josh Hutcherson and Matthew Lillard have joined forces to bring the classic horror video game series with the same name to life in Blumhouse’s 2023 live-action adaptation titled Five Nights at Freddy’s.
See here for everything they had to say about the movie at NYCC 2023, and below for the description of what we got to see while sitting in the audience.
FNAF NYCC 2023 Footage
Although the footage was brief, it perfectly summed up what to expect in Blumhouse’s Five Nights at Freddy’s in term of its tone and how well it reflects its video game series predecessor.
In the footage, Hutcherson’s Mike Schmidt is shown watching a creepy Freddy Fazbear’s night guard security training tape, full of rustled glitches throughout the tape’s footage.
Mentions of the owner aka Matthew Lillard’s William Afton are made as well as some shots of black and white possessed footage being shown throughout, however, as said the clip was brief and straight to the point – the point being that this movie is shaping up to be one of the best video game feature adaptations seen yet in the industry.
Blumhouse’s Five Nights at Freddy’s hits theatres and Peacock on October 27, 2023.
