Marvel Studios’ Deadpool 3 already has a long list of confirmed cast members that may only be the tip of the iceberg according to a new rumour shared online.
The DisInsider took to the web yesterday August 11 to share a list of unconfirmed Deadpool 3 cast members, one being none other than Julian McMahon.
According to the reported list of names, McMahon is set to reprise his Victor Von Doom aka Doctor Doom role in Ryan Reynolds’ third Deadpool movie.

McMahon first played the famous Marvel villain in the 2005 Fantastic Four movie then last played the role in its 2007 sequel Rise of the Silver Surfer.
Deadpool 3 is currently scheduled to release next May 3, despite the title being removed from Disney’s release calendar. McMahon’s potential return would see a 16-year gap between his last outing and the third Deadpool movie.
Will McMahon Be MCU’s Main Doctor Doom?
One question that could be brought up due to this rumour is whether McMahon will be returning to star as the main Doctor Doom in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or if he will just be starring as a quick cameo for fan service sake.
As mentioned, nothing in regard to McMahon returning to the Marvel scene to reprise his Doctor Doom role has been confirmed as of writing.
Prior to the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes commencing, development on Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four movie was well underway.
Pre-strike, Fantastic Four casting reports were really starting to make rounds online, such as Vanessa Kirby being up for Sue Storm and Joseph Quinn as Sue’s brother Johnny aka the Human Torch.
Doctor Doom being a key player in the Secret Wars comics points to his debut most likely being in the Fantastic Four reboot.
However, who will be playing the main MCU Doctor Doom has yet to be revealed, unless this rumour means McMahon may be returning for more than just a quick cameo. This could potentially shake a few heads in the Marvel fan community, but since the MCU currently being in a Multiverse Saga, anything is technically possible.
One name that has crept up more than most recently to play Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic is Adam Driver (Star Wars: The Force Awakens).
It would make sense for Marvel Studios to cast two actors who are relatively close in age when it comes to casting the iconic Fantastic Four leader and his foe.
For comparison, as of writing Driver is 39 years of age while McMahon is 55, something that could potentially work in a live-action reboot of Fantastic Four.

The only issue is that McMahon has already starred on screen as Doctor Doom across from completely different Fantastic Four cast members. So it’s more likely that the main Doctor Doom will be going to a new player in the field.
Whether or not McMahon is truly set to at least shoot a cameo in the third Deadpool movie will just have to remain a mystery until further details are provided.
Deadpool 3 is set to hit theatres on May 3, 2024.
