Paramount+ has officially unveiled the first look at Pet Sematary: Bloodlines, the prequel to the 2019 movie adaptation of Stephen King’s Pet Sematary.
This new prequel story will follow the events of a young Jud Crandall who was played by John Lithgow (Daddy’s Home 2) in the 2019 remake.
Set in 1969, Jud Crandall has dreams of leaving his hometown behind to soon discover sinister buried secrets that force him to confront his family’s dark history that forever keeps him tied to the town he wanted to leave.
Jackson White (Mrs. Fletcher) is set to star as the younger Jud Crandall, his character will be joined by his childhood friends who band together to fight the ancient evil that has surrounded Ludlow since it was founded.
King himself revealed that this story is the “scariest” one that he’s ever written, something horror fans will be the real judge of once it premieres.
Judging by the fact that the Pet Sematary novel itself is the self-proclaimed “scariest” story, its prequel has a lot to live up to in terms of its fear factor.
Starring alongside White includes Forrest Goodluck, Jack Mulhern, Natalie Alyn Lind, Henry Thomas, and Siabella Star LaBlanc.
The X-Files star David Duchovny and Jacky Brown star Pam Grier will also be featured in the upcoming Stephen King prequel story.
