Patrick Stewart has teased that he may not be done playing the role of Charles Xavier, aka Professor X, in the ever-growing Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In a recent interview with etonline.com (Entertainment Tonight), Stewart spoke out about his Professor X cameo in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which was released in 2022 and shocked fans worldwide. Where Could Professor X Show Up Next?

The live-action adaptation of Marvel’s Charles Xavier is most famously known by being played by Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy, with Stewart first’s appearance being in the first X-Men movie, which hit the screens back in 2000. However, Patrick Stewart is the only actor to so far reprise the role for the MCU, with no official sign of McAvoy coming back anytime soon – which could change now that Deadpool 3 is in the works.
Stewart’s involvement with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was a nod to the comics as Strange and Professor X were both members of Marvel’s Illuminati team. If Stewart was happy to reprise the role of Xavier for this piece of fan service, it should only be safe to assume that Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds would easily be able to convince Stewart to return for Deadpool 3 – which has been teased to be titled Wolverine & Deadpool in the past.
Stewart even confirmed that he has been told to standby in regard to Deadpool 3 being in pre-production, telling ComicBook.com in a recent interview: “I’ve been told to standby. I know nothing more than that, honest.”. Which was a response to being asked about Hugh Jackman’s return to the role of Wolverine, and if Jackman had gotten in touch for Stewart to join him for the third Deadpool installment for the MCU.
