Paul Rudd and Jonathan Majors have settled a feud during a recent interview with Extra, one that didn’t exist until Rudd created a fabricated feud on the spot. When asked about the tension between their characters in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, they jokingly revealed that the tension existed both on set and off set.
Paul Rudd will be reprising his role as the MCU’s Scott Lang, also known as Ant-Man, with Jonathan Majors taking on a new iteration of Kang where fans will get to meet the next Avengers-level villain for the first time. However, Majors has appeared as a variant of this character in the past, as he played He Who Remains in the first season of Loki.
When discussing the tension between their characters in the movie, Rudd jokingly responds with “also in real life”, thanking the interviewer by saying “you’ve really done an amazing thing bringing us together – they’ve been separating us” with Majors adding “it’s almost been two years now”.
That, of course, is just a funny skit that Paul Rudd thought of on the spot as the two actors are clearly on good terms and enjoy having a laugh together. Majors adds to the improvised joke that the crew would have to pull the two to opposite sides of the set in-between takes, with Rudd adding that they should settle their feud and ”start fresh”.
“I’m sure you can sense the tension in the room – I’m willing to just start fresh if you [JONATHAN MAJORS] are?”. Jonathan Majors responds to Paul Rudd with “right now” and the two hilariously hug it out, which is just another typical interview with Paul Rudd as he is known for joking during his MCU interviews – quite a lot of the time.
