Pedro Pascal is typically the first person Star Wars fans think of now when talking about The Mandalorian even though his face usually goes unseen. Pascal’s Din Djarin aka the titular character can always be seen wearing his Mandalorian armour including the face-covering helmet.

One golden cultural rule for a Mandalorian is to never take off their helmet in front of others at any cost as to do so is forbidden. With Pascal’s voice being attached to the suit, it’s hard to imagine anybody else being inside it. However, he has confirmed he no longer wears the suit at all and only does voice work which allows him to work on more projects on the side.
Pedro Pascal Only Voices The Mandalorian Now
When talking at The Hollywood Reporter‘s Drama Actor Roundtable, the The Last of Us star confirmed he only does voice work now for The Mandalorian. When asked if he doesn’t always have to be present on the set of The Mandalorian, Pascal simply confirmed he only did voiceover work for the third season of the Star Wars spinoff series but wore the suit in previous seasons.
There was an extended amount of experimentation, being in the suit for a lot of it, and frankly, my body wasn’t up for the task as far as, like, the four months of it. But I was in it. I was in it a significant amount, an elastic amount

The question was brought up due to the fact that Pascal was the star of both The Last of Us and The Mandalorian which were both released in early 2023. Now that the Mandalorian is refusing to take off his helmet anymore due to the forbidden code of his people, Pascal didn’t have to turn up to set to show his face on camera at all.

This allows for him to safely work on both shows at the same time since The Last of Us has been renewed for a second season and The Mandalorian-verse won’t be stopping anytime soon.
But now we’ve figured it out, which is super cool, and amazingly, it gave me the opportunity to be able to go and do something else.
