Mobius Returns To The MCU
Industry insider Daniel Richtman reported that Owen Wilson is set to reprise the role of Agent Mobius M. Mobius from Loki in the Untitled Deadpool 3. He added that Owen would have a prominent role in the film, not just a cameo.
Owen Wilson will also return in Loki Season 2, which will set up his character to appear in Deadpool 3. All we want is for Mobius to ride a Jet Ski!
The Implications of Mobius appearing in Deadpool 3
If Mobius does appear in Deadpool 3, then we can be sure of the TVA also making a dent in Deadpool’s misadventures. What was the last thing we saw Deadpool doing? He uses Cable’s time-traveling device to save Vanessa and Peter from their deaths, shoots dead X-Men Origins: Wolverine’s version of Deadpool in an effort to “fix the timeline”, and finally actor Ryan Reynolds after he reads and approves the movie script for the Green Lantern film. That definitely sounds like something the TVA might want to put an end to. The sheer number of branched timelines created from the Merc’s ventures would be overwhelming for the TVA.
This makes sense when we look at the direction the MCU is headed as well. Deadpool 3 is one of the nearer movies to Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, which only makes it natural that we’d need some more setup for the event. This movie also marks the return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, so we can expect to see more mutants along the ride. However, don’t get too excited, because, In Screen Rant‘s interview with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever producer Nate Moore, he said that “we might be a few years out from the X-Men.”
“Well, Storm’s relationship with Wakanda in publishing is pretty interesting. Obviously, we might be a few years out from the X-Men, so I’m not sure we’re there yet. Who else from Wakanda have we not introduced? I mean, there’s a pretty deep bench, actually. And especially, I think, Ta-Nehisi’s run introduced a lot of key characters that would be fun to export. Even characters like Vibraxas, which are more Fantastic Four characters. But yeah, it’s a pretty deep bench. I think there’s a lot more stories to tell on Wakanda for sure.”

A reminder that X-Men ’97 is set to arrive on Disney+ during fall 2023, just a year away. Although it isn’t canon to the MCU (like Spider-Man: Freshman Year), it still has effects on the MCU and helps do the world-building before their live-action introduction.
