Reports about NetherRealm Studios’ Mortal Kombat 12 are starting to surface online, with details that the upcoming instalment will reboot the entire franchise and be called Mortal Kombat 1, however, this has yet to be officially announced by the studio.
This news comes shortly after the latest teaser was released by the creators of the upcoming instalment, with a brief few seconds of a clock skipping the number 12, speculated to be an allude to the fact that what was expected to be Mortal Kombat 12 will in fact be a franchise reboot, similar to the ninth instalment that came out in 2011 simply entitled Mortal Kombat.
Twitter user @billbil_kun, known for releasing accurate details and information on upcoming video games, released information just today on the reported title change for the upcoming addition to the Mortal Kombat franchise, along with next-gen details that may shock some fans.
According to the newly reported information, the next Mortal Kombat game, titled Mortal Kombat 1, will only be available to play on the PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and the Xbox Series S|X.
Alongside the next-gen console information came details in regard to the price options:

- Kollector’s: 249.99$ (PS5, XB)”
NetherRealm Studios’ 2023 Mortal Kombat game is set for a late 2023 release.
