Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire were rumouredly teased recently to have some sort of involvement with the release of the next Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Man trailer which will reportedly be released next Monday, April 3.
Now, new details have emerged from the well-known industry scooper known as Daniel RPK, aka Daniel Richtman, who has somewhat teased that the rumour regarding Holland, Garfield, and Maguire’s involvement with the upcoming Into The Spider-Verse sequel may just be rehashed footage from the three actor’s Spider-Man movies being featured in Across The Spider-Verse, however, these details have not yet been confirmed.
When asked if Holland, Garfield, and Maguire would be appearing in the next trailer for Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse, the scooper wrote that the three actors are “not in the film as far as I know. Unless you count archive footage.”, teasing that reused footage will be featured in Across The Spider-Verse and also not confirming that the three actors won’t be appearing in new footage for the upcoming sequel.
It was also reported not too long ago that Across The Spider-Verse will be featuring a couple of mentions and references to both Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, and that their universe-damaging situation from Spider-Man: No Way Home would also be getting a mention some point during the animated sequel.
It should be noted that these details have not been confirmed by the cast and crew of Across The Spider-Verse, however, the film’s director has teased in the past that the live-action Spideys can show up one day in the animated Spider-Verse franchise, just as Doctor Strange has also jumped through animated universes, making the possibility now canon.
Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse comes to theatres on June 2, 2023.
