Thunderbolt Ross Gets A Promotion
A new report from industry insider Daniel Richtman gave us a look at the official casting grid for Captain America: New World Order. The grid mentioned the character description for a “Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross/Red Hulk”.
Male, anywhere between 50s-80s. Lead. The former Lieutenant General of the United States Army and Secretary of State, now President of the United States. Using radiation siphoned transformed Ross into the Red Hulk.
While we know that “Using radiation siphoned transformed Ross into the Red Hulk” makes no grammatical sense, it is possible that Richtman just skipped a few words like “Using radiation siphoned from She-Hulk’s blood transformed Ross into the Red Hulk.”
Not only does this confirm Ross becoming president in New World Order, but also that he will transform into the Red Hulk!
In a new video on YouTube, Insider Grace Randolph said that Harrison Ford would play Red Hulk up until Avengers: Secret Wars. However, take this with a grain of salt.
A Contradiction?
In an exclusive by The Cosmic Circus, Ms. Lizzie Hill mentioned that “Ross will no longer be Secretary of State and will be a private citizen.” The more recent report by Daniel Richtman ended up contradicting this. In response, here is what she said on Twitter:
It’s possible that I/the source/both had some confusion wording it that way. It happens. Sorry. Main point is I said he’s no longer Sec of State. Honestly I think it’s been leading up to Ross being President eventually since the beginning (partially why I made that plane joke).

Connections to Wakanda Forever and Secret Invasion
In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (which is now playing in theatres!), Richard Schiff made a cameo as a new Secretary of State, which was a post previously held by William Hurt’s Thunderbolt Ross in Captain America: Civil War. This already proves that Ross won’t be the SoS in New World Order.
In both set images and the official trailer for Secret Invasion, we see _ as President Ritson. In a set image, we see the POTUS meeting up with Rhodey in London, reprised by Don Cheadle. In the trailer, we see a convoy of vehicles, including one carrying Ritson being attacked by missiles.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens to Ritson for him to be replaced with Ross. Knowing the Secret Invasion comics storyline, he could be ousted as a Skrull, or assassinated, or both!
So now, we know FOR SURE that
- Thunderbolt Ross is no longer the U.S Secretary of State
- Ritson will be attacked in Secret Invasion
This leads me to conclude that Harrison Ford’s Thunderbolt Ross will indeed be the President of the United States in Captain America: New World Order.
A New Character in ‘New World Order’
Opposite Anthony, possibly a love interest, there will be an option for more after this film. He noted that Hannah could possibly be a codename for Sabra, who was confirmed to appear in this movie at Marvel Studios’ D23 presentation. Sabra will be portrayed by Israeli actress Shira Haas.

Production Update For ‘New World Order’
Almost a month ago, reputed insider Ms. Lizzie Hill from The Cosmic Circus reported that filming for Captain America: New World Order will begin during mid to late March 2023. Not longer than 24 hours ago, Daniel Richtman himself corroborated this report, stating the very same.
When Will ‘Captain America: New World Order’ Release?
Marvel Studios’ Captain America: New World Order is set to release in theaters worldwide on May 3rd, 2024.
