Residents of the Scottish West Lothian towns Livingston and Bathgate recently spotted Samuel L. Jackson filming for a secret project which was recently speculated to be for Marvel Studios’ The Marvels or possibly even for the MCU series Secret Invasion, however, recent news confirms that the project has nothing to do with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Deadline broke the news today that Jackson will be teaming up with Vincent Cassel (Black Swan, Westworld) to lead the cast of an upcoming action thriller entitled Damaged, with Terry McDonagh (Killing Eve, Better Call Saul) set to direct.
CoveredGeekly recently got to speak to a couple of residents who were lucky enough to watch Jackson at work on the upcoming project, and unless Jackson is currently working on two projects in Scotland, which is unlikely, it looks like Bathgate, Scotland will be used this week to film some scenes for Damaged, which CoveredGeekly exclusively learned will be this week during the later hours on March 30, 2023.
Damaged is described as being about a Chicago detective who travels to Scotland in pursuit of an emerging serial killer’s crimes matching those that he investigated five years prior, with one of the crimes being the murder of his girlfriend.
Jackson and Cassel will also be joined by Kate Dickie (The Witch), Gianni Capaldi (A Day to Die) and John Hannah (The Mummy), as confirmed in Deadline‘s latest exclusive.
CoveredGeekly will be on the scene here in Scotland as Jackson, the production crew, and any other potential cast members set out to film for Damaged, we expect that Jackson will only be filming in Scotland for this one project, as opposed to the recent speculation that Jackson would be filming for a Marvel Studios project of some kind, such as The Marvels.
A release date for Damaged, starring Samuel L. Jackson and Vincent Cassel, has not yet been announced.
