Simon Pegg (Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning: Part One) has spoken out about the upcoming fourth season of Prime Video‘s The Boys.

Confirming that season 4 will feature more appearances from Pegg throughout its episodes relative to the last two instalments.

While talking to Collider, Pegg confirmed that his character will be appearing in “around” four episodes of The Boys season 4.

See what he had to say about the upcoming season below.

“You know how crazy The Boys is? It’s gonna get crazier, I had so much fun on that show. It was so great to go back and play Hugh Sr. I love Jack [Quaid].

It was great to work with Rosemarie DeWitt, who plays Hughie’s mom, who comes back. It’s going to be great. You’re gonna love it.

I’m in about four episodes, and it was a joy to be back. It’s a great crew. They are an amazing bunch of people, and that show is sick as f***!”

Why Hasn’t Simon Pegg Been In ‘The Boys’ Much?

So why hasn’t Pegg’s character been in many episodes? Explained.

Firstly, Pegg’s involvement in the series is mostly due to being the original inspiration for how Hughie looked in the original comics.

However, both the second and third seasons contain very little presence of Hughie’s father, the second having no appearance at all from Pegg.

This is mostly because the Star Trek actor has been extremely busy with Tom Cruise over in the Mission Impossible franchise.

Mission Impossible has seen Pegg star as Benji Dunn since the third 2006 instalment entitled Mission: Impossible III.

Cruise must have liked him and his character because Pegg’s Benji was heavily bumped up in Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol regarding screen time and its importance to the overall plot.

Since then Pegg has been right by Ethan Hunt’s side, Hunt being Cruise’s character for those who don’t know and hasn’t shown any signs of leaving the franchise as of yet.

The Boys season 4 is expected to premiere in 2024 exclusively on Prime Video.
