Snoop Dogg announced Thursday that he has decided to “give up smoke” after “much consideration” and after having a “conversation with his family” – along with announcing that he intends to keep the matter as private as possible.
The rapper took to Instagram to post the news, simply captioning it with “I’m giving up smoke.”

In the image attached to the post, the rapper included image text that reads “After much consideration and conversation with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke.”
“Please respect my privacy at this time,” the image also added.
It’s unclear as to exactly what or why the rapper and his family had a conversation about the matter, or as to why he decided to give it up – just that he is.

In an Instagram post made by Snoop shortly after, he reiterated that he wishes for some temporary privacy, seemingly while he goes through the process of cutting out his smoking habit.
Snoop writes in the post “Respect my privacy,” along with posting a selfie.
Snoop Dogg is currently 52 years old, it’s been speculated amongst his fans that his age may be a factor toward giving up smoking – others theorise it could be for various reasons, such as memory loss, etc.

As aforementioned, the rapper wishes for the matter to be as private as possible, at least in the meantime.
