Character designer Kris Anka took to Twitter today July 7 to share some early concept art for the surprising live-action cameo in the form of two sketch images.
The two images contain a small nugget of information that confirms Glover’s Prowler seen in Across the Spider-Verse is indeed the “MCU Prowler”.

Glover’s Aaron Davis was last seen in Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: Homecoming alongside Tom Holland‘s Peter Parker aka Spider-Man.

His fully suited-up live-action version of Prowler on the other hand was only seen for the first time during Sony’s 2023 animated Across the Spider-Verse movie.
With these new images stating that his Prowler variant was from Tom Holland’s Spider-Man Universe aka the MCU, it’s clear this was definitely a huge set-up.
See the second image shared by Anka below.
In the two images, it can clearly be seen that Glover’s Prowler design is labelled as being the “MCU PROWLER” along with a few additional lines of information.

Such as the fact that these designs were seemingly drafted up in March of this year, which makes sense as Glover’s cameo was filmed close to the sequel’s release date.
Setting Up Glover’s Return But For Which Universe?
MCU fans will know that Glover’s character in Spider-Man: Homecoming was confirmed to be that of Miles Morales’ uncle Aaron Davis aka the Prowler.
However, he has yet to be seen since the first Tom Holland Spider-Man instalment and has long been expected to return which made his Spider-Verse cameo a thrill to see.
It’s fairly obvious that the studios have plans for Glover to return as the famous Spidey villain, it’s just unclear as to which franchise we’ll see him next.
Marvel Studios and Sony could very well be setting up for a bigger crossover event between the two main Spidey franchises in the future.
With the various live-action Spider-Man characters shown during Across the Spider-Verse, it only makes sense that this would be their current direction.
Tom Holland is expected to return as Peter Parker aka Spider-Man once again for a Spider-Man 4 alongside Zendaya for Marvel Studios.
So it’s safe to assume that the big plan right now is to both see the return of Glover’s Prowler in the MCU plus the live-action debut of Miles Morales.
Assuming that Sony plan on letting the MCU have Miles Morales in a live-action movie before they do, which currently remains unclear as nothing solid has been announced.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is now playing in theatres.
