Sony and Marvel’s “Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse” is now only half a year away, with dozens of reports circulating the web in regards to what the plot may entail. Lately, one report has really caught the interest of many, something that would expand the cinematic ‘spider-verse’ to great lengths.
The report in question is the possibility that Tom Holland will appear in the movie, which hasn’t been officially confirmed but has been widely spoken about as of late. It wouldn’t be impossible, with Marvel icons such as Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield returning to the big screen as Spider-Men, anything goes now right?
What would have seemed impossible not too many years ago, is slowly becoming the new norm in Hollywood’s Superhero genre, especially when it comes to Marvel. However, if Tom Holland truly is a part of the ‘Across The Spider-Verse’ cast, what possibilities could this potentially unlock for the franchise?
Well, funny you ask because if this amazing report is indeed true, this could mean that Miles Morales could be headed to the live-action MCU universe and vice versa.
Spider-Verse Director Responds
Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield have also been reported to appear in the third installment ‘Beyond The Spider-Verse’, although this also hasn’t been confirmed. Funnily enough, however, ‘Across The Spider-Verse’ director, Chris Miller has recently provided some clue as to what’s going on.
When Chris Miller was asked about the possibility of any of this happening, his response to Empire Magazine may have given it all away.
“Let’s say… Anything is possible in the multiverse.”

Suggesting that anything is possible when discussing the possibility of the MCU’s Spider-Men appearing in the Spider-Verse franchise. Miller sent theorists into a frenzy, attempting to break down every little piece of his response for clues.
Animated Tom Holland Spider-Man
Firstly, the most commonly discussed thing on the internet when talking about this report is the fact that we would get Tom Holland’s animated form if he was to join Morales’ universe. Although, if we were to get an animated Tom Holland, this would confirm that we could also get a live-action Miles, right?
Sadly, all we can do is speculate, as no confirmed details have been released in regard to the recent report. If true, the plan could just be for an animated Tom Holland Spider-Man, and nothing more, who knows!
Live-Action Miles Morales
Something to be even more excited about, however, is the potential for the ‘Spider-Verse’ Miles Morales to jump from the usually animated worlds to the live-action Marvel Cinematic Universe.
If this was to happen, it could be a great setup for Sony and the MCU to reveal who will be playing the official live-action Morales-Spider-Man. Judging by the secrecy behind Spider-Man: No Way Home, expectations of no confirmations about this news are high from fans online.
