Netflix has dropped the teaser of Squid Game: The Challenge, a reality show based on the highly acclaimed South Korean survival drama series Squid Game.
Released in 2022, Squid Game had characters vying for a big cash prize by participating in Life-threatening games.
As shown in the teaser, Squid Game: The Challenge brings together 456 real-life contestants to take on a variety of games and challenges inspired by the original show, without the life-threatening risks.

These participants are vying for an unprecedented $4.56 million cash prize, setting a new record in television history. The 10-episode competition series is set to premiere on Netflix on November 22.
The official synopsis of Squid Game: The Challenge reads –
“Though the reality version of Squid Game isn’t a matter of life or death, there’s still a lot on the line, Through a series of games, each player will be pushed to their limits and forced to ask themselves just how far they’ll go to win, with opportunistic alliances, cutthroat strategies and timely betrayals to follow.”
Just like the original South Korean show, Squid Game: The Challenge will have contestants competing in strange and increasingly difficult games. These games will gradually eliminate players until one winner is crowned.
The trailer doesn’t reveal much about the games, but it does show the giant Red Light, Green Light doll from the original series, suggesting it might kick off the reality series.
Squid Game: The Challenge was filmed in studios located in the United Kingdom. The series generated controversy due to reported real-life injuries and subpar filming conditions during production.
Squid Game’s Second Season Is In Development
Squid Game made its debut on Netflix in 2021 and quickly became an internet sensation due to its unique plot and gripping storyline. Following the resounding success of the first season, “Squid Game” was greenlit for a second season.
As of now, the second season of Squid Game is in development, but there is no official news regarding its release date.
