As of writing, Respawn currently has job listings up on LinkedIn with a clear indication that the job will be to work on Star Wars Jedi.
Respawn’s job listing is shown to be seeking out a “Principle Game Writer” for their “Star Wars Jedi” game series.
This job listing title alone indicates that a new story is now in development for the next instalment of the soon-to-be trilogy.
See below for an image of the public LinkedIn job listing.
Star Wars Jedi 3 Job Listing Breakdown
Respawn’s “Principal Game Writer” open position is a senior-level writing position that comes with many requirements to actually land the job.
The job requires the Principal Game Writer to work directly with the “Lead Writer and narrative team to develop compelling and immersive narrative gameplay that fits seamlessly within the Star Wars universe.”
Working as a writer on a triple AAA game already comes with many challenges, these challenges only heighten when throwing Star Wars into the mix as the job requires somebody who has a true “passion for third-person action-adventure games and the Star Wars universe.”
It’s expected that the game won’t be set to release for at least a couple of years due to the title only now going into development.
Director Stig Asmussen has been vocal in the past that he would like to see the Star Wars Jedi story evolve into a trilogy.
Sadly the job posting came with no specific details about the potential Star Wars Jedi threequel, so fans will have to wait a while longer to hear something more official on the next instalment of the series.
Star Wars Jedi 3 has yet to be officially announced.
