Star Wars expert and producer Dave Filoni has confirmed that the upcoming Rosario Dawson-led live-action Ahsoka series is an official continuation of the animated Star Wars Rebels series.
Filoni even went as far as to describe the 2023 Ahsoka series as Star Wars Rebels season 5 as many fans expected it would be.

Although Filoni never went on the record to say this directly. Ahsoka star Rosario Dawson spoke with Total Film to share Filoni’s words.
“It’s hard sometimes to tell with the things you read online whether that’s actual fact or just some fan fiction,’ says Dawson. ‘But I’m pretty sure Dave said that this is basically like the fifth season of Rebels.
So it felt nice to feel that sort of continuation with these people she’s got such a rich history with. You can see that with her mission that she has, going after Thrawn, and believing that he’s still alive, and holding Ezra in her heart because they have a really beautiful, long history as well.”

In Search For Ezra Bridger
This confirms that the first season of Ahsoka will indeed be continuing where the fourth season of Rebels left off. In search for Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn, both of who have been confirmed for the series.
Star Wars Rebels left off with the potential for a sequel story, now being confirmed by Dawson to be Ahsoka.

In the final moments of Rebels season 4, Ahsoka Tano joined Sabine Wren in search for Ezra Bridger who, before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope, went off into hyperspace and disappeared.
Lars Mikkelsen will be reprising his previously voiced role of Grand Admiral Thrawn while Dawson continues to star as the live-action Ahsoka who was previously voiced by Ashley Eckstein in The Clone Wars and Rebels.
Ahsoka, starring Rosario Dawson, premieres exclusively on Disney+ on August 23.
