David Harbour has offered an update as to what fans should expect to see go down in the final ever season of Netflix’s Stranger Things, a show he has starred in as the character Jim Hopper since its first season that premiered in 2016.
The show has been one of Netflix’s biggest chart contenders consecutively each season and includes stars such as Millie Bobby Brown, Noah Schnapp, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, and Sadie Sink, among many other talented cast members.
However, as aforementioned, the show is set to come to a “real” end in the final episode of season 5 – something that Harbour has provided a strong update on.
Stranger Things Season 5’s “Real” Ending
During a recent panel that Harbour attended at Motor City Comic Con (via a post shared to X), he was asked if he could talk about “season 6” of the series – the Black Widow actor had to “disappoint” by reaffirming that the fifth season will indeed be the last.
Although Harbour had to refrain from giving away any hints or spoilers for the upcoming season, he was kind enough to touch on the final season’s finale.
“Season 5 has been announced to be the last season of Stranger Things, but the beauty of it is – there’s a real ending, Stranger Things will end.”
David Harbour Teases Stranger Things Spin-offs
He added that the show will be ending in a “very real way”, as well as touching on the fact that the franchise will most likely be producing spin-offs down the line.
“Netflix is for sure going to do spin-offs and go various directions – there’s a play going on in London – there’s various ways they can use the storyline”.
However, when it comes to the main series, Harbour reiterates that the “storyline of Stranger Things when we started in the Upside Down in that lab [to] Season 5 – that’s one complete story”.
He continues, “And it’s going to end at the final episode of Season 5.”
Stranger Things Final Season Filming Update
Additionally, it should be noted that production on the final season of Stranger Things has been said to have resumed over at Netflix – potentially filming too.
It’s been a long road since the show started, and not only has each season benefited the show’s parent streamer, but it’s also given birth to various talented stars who have all now become household names.
Stranger Things season 5 does not yet have a release date.
