Supernatural fans reckon the cast and crew of the franchise are potentially gearing up to announce something big, with many in full belief that it will be the highly demanded season 16 that’s been a hot topic since it ended in 2020.
Despite the show’s final season being marked as the final season, with its final episode even including a final farewell message from the cast and crew, most fans were seemingly left a little bit disappointed with the show’s climax.
Jensen Ackles, one of the show’s main stars, has also spoken out in the past about initially feeling a bit disappointed with how the show ended – more so on the ending of the character he played, Dean Winchester.
Ackles’ main Supernatural co-star Jared Padalecki, on the other hand, has been open in the past about being proud of the ending of the show – Ackles has also been vocal that he eventually got on board with the final season’s ending.
However, as aforementioned, fans of the show have been investigating what they believe to be clues made by both the cast and crew of the series, that a season 16 or something similar could still be in the cards for the Winchesters.
Its two main stars being at the height of fan discussions online, see below.
Jared Padelecki & Jensen Ackles Teasing Supernatual Return?
The first of several “clues” and “hints”, as fans of the show say, is the fact that the show’s main two stars Ackles and Padalecki have seemingly been teasing a return for some time now – including as of late by the look of it.
It seems that the two stars have been hinting at some sort of return for the show at Supernatural conventions, which thanks to videos being posted online, everyone who doesn’t attend said events have access to watching.
For example, during a relatively recent convention, Padalecki teased the show’s potential return by saying “But now that it’s [Supernatural] finally behind us… [does finger quotes] behind us as for now”, which caused quite the crowd response as he burst into laughter about.
In the same convention as mentioned above, Ackles says that the show is still “very much alive” thanks to its fanbase that still to this day supports the show, rewatches episodes, and attends conventions to meet its cast and crew.
Ackles goes on to say on stage that he believes the loving support from its large fanbase is “just setting up the return at some point”, which also manages to obtain a roaring cheer from the convention’s crowd.
It should also be noted that fans have been fairly vocal on the show’s official social media accounts, with many questions about each recent post as to why the social accounts have been increasing their posting frequency.
