Another year means another TennoCon and this year, the people at Digital Extremes had a lot to announce.
This year’s TennoCon was special as it marked the tenth anniversary of Warframe and they were able to celebrate that by showing a lot of upcoming content that would get Warframe fans excited and ready for the future.
Heirloom Collections
First off, to honour the ten years spent defending the Origin System and the tenth anniversary of Warframe, Mag and Frost, who have been two iconic Warframes since the Tenno first appeared, have been given all-new looks.
Warframe has introduced the Heirloom Collection. Inside these collections, you can find the all-new signature skins for Mag and Frost (which can be used both on the base or prime versions of the Warframe); you also get a profile accolade, 600 platinum, 6 Regal Aya, and a whole new customization category called Signas.
The Heirloom Collection has three packs that are available for you to choose from. The first pack is the Zenith Heirloom Collection, and it’ll cost you 59.99 GBP.
It comes with the Mag Heirloom Skin, Mag Heirloom Sigma, Frost Heirloom Skin, Frost Heirloom Sigma, and also includes the Deca Heirloom Sigil, Deca Heirloom Glyph, Deca Heirloom Emote, Deca Heirloom Colour Palette, the ten-year accolade, Platinum, and Regal Aya.
The second pack is the Celestial Heirloom Collection, which will cost you 45.99 GBP and includes the same skins as the previous collection, but this time only comes with the additional accolade and Regal Aya.
The third pack is the Risen Collection Collection, which will cost you 19.99 GBP. This pack doesn’t include the skins but comes with all the additional stuff from the Zenith Heirloom Collection, excluding the Regal Aya, and this time only provides you with 400 platinum.
Unfortunately for some, the Heirloom Collections are timed and will leave the stores on December 31 2023 at 11:59 p.m. ET. This will be your only opportunity to get your hands on them so grab them quick. If you haven’t already got Mag or Frost Prime then they have recently been put through the Prime Resurgence rotation so now is a better time than ever to grab all of these goodies.
Whisper In The Walls And Warframe: 1999
It wouldn’t be TennoCon without talking about the future of Warframe’s storyline. This year they announced Whispers In The Walls which will be released this fall on all platforms.
They described it as a hair-raising conflict with shocking revelations that will shake the Origin System to its very core. It’s to be a new cinematic story quest, where you’ll be caught in the middle of a deadly battle between Albrecht Entrati, one of the Origin System’s most brilliant minds, and the unknowable Man in the Wall.
With this comes new additions to the game. The first new addition is a brand new faction which has been created by the Man in the Wall called the Murmur. Along with them also comes an expanded Necramech enemy faction.
The second addition that will become with this story update is an all-new secondary weapon class you take down your foes and that’s the otherworldly Grimoire, you’ll be able to use this to cast ‘magic’ at your enemies. A big must for wizard/magic fans.
Warframe: 1999
Another major announcement at TennoCon which was also story related was Warframe: 1999. This future update has a lot of people in the Warframe community very curious as it is reminiscent of Digital Extreme’s other game they created called Dark Sectors.
A lot of this trailer resembles this update, such as the character and the plot. Warframe: 1999 follows a man named Arthur who is battling enemies who are infected with a virus that has now spread to machines. This virus turns these machines into humanoid creatures.
This update will be released in Early 2024. If you would like to take a look at some gameplay for both Whispers in the Wall and Warframe: 1999, then Digital Extremes dropped a 27-minute gameplay video showcasing both and you can find this video at the bottom of this article.
Soulframe
The team behind Soulframe dropped a gameplay video during TennoCon to showcase the prelude and features coming to this fantasy co-op game which is also being developed by Digital Extremes.
