The Flash director Andy Muschietti (It, Mama) played mysteriously coy when asked about James Gunn’s Batman: The Brave and the Bold movie. Muschietti’s The Flash features both Tim Burton’s Batman and Zack Snyder’s Batman played by Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck. This has sparked discussions within the DC fandom that Muschietti may be a good choice to direct Gunn’s Batman movie.
However, when asked about a direction-related notion in regard to Gunn’s Batman movie, Muschiette closed up and responded by saying “Ooh – that’s a – I don’t think I can talk about that… yet.” Seemingly playing coy while hinting that he may be able to talk more about it soon as he says “yet.”
Could Andy Muschietti Be Gunn’s Top Choice?
Is Andy Muschietti perhaps in talks to direct James Gunn’s Batman movie for the DCU?
Although no confirmation as to if Muschietti is involved or not with the project, fans are now sure that The Flash director is either in talks to direct or has already signed on behind-the-scenes. Gunn has been vocal in the past about how much he loves The Flash starring Ezra Miller which as mentioned features two Batman characters. So it could be safe to assume that Muschietti is at least on the shortlist of directors to helm the Batman reboot for the new revamped DC Universe over at Warner Bros. Pictures.
Muschietti is known best for helming horror titles such as 2017 It movie and the 2019 It: Chapter Two sequel based on the classic Stephen King novel. DC fans are sure that The Flash has been helmed by the Mama director due to the tone of the movie’s plot. Horror could be one word to describe the life of DC’s Batman aka Bruce Wayne due to his traumatizing past and countless terrifying foes. If Gunn has plans to stay true to the DC darkness as seen in the comics and animated adaptations, Muschietti might just be the number one man for the job.
James Gunn’s Batman: The Brave and the Bold does not have a release date yet.
