The Dark Flash, aka Zoom, can be spotted getting kicked by Ezra Miller’s Flash during a few shots of the latest trailer for 2023’s The Flash movie. Despite General Zod being depicted as the movie’s antagonist during the trailer, rumors state that the Dark Flash will be the true villain of The Flash and these few frames may prove it.
The Dark Flash, for those of you wondering, is a variant of the Flash who is essentially the grim reaper of speedsters, a character who travels across the multiverse taking the speed force ability from Flash variants. Speculation from readers of the DC Comics adaptation of the character theorized that the Dark Flash was assigned the task to take down the Flash variants due to the normal grim reaper, aka Death, simply being too slow to catch them.

Dark Flash (aka Zoom or Black Flash) Spotted
During a literal blink-and-you-miss-it moment, a figure within a red lightning filled-tornado of sorts can be seen getting dropkicked by Ezra Miller’s Flash character. However, the setting seems to also be where General Zod is shown fighting the US army, which may just end up being the backdrop of the true showdown between Dark Flash and Flash.
At first glance of this shot from the trailer, it may just appear as the Flash facing off against one of General Zod’s minions, but for a brief frame or two, it is made more visually clear that this is the Dark Flash – or at least somebody who looks very much like the Dark Flash.
Once Ezra Miller’s Flash kicks this mysterious figure, it is then revealed more clearly to resemble the appearance of the Dark Flash as he can be seen outside of the lightning-filled tornado for a second or two.
Another noteworthy mention of this theory is that the red lightning mixed with the black whirlwind is also a comparable feature to the Dark Flash, as you can see in our comparison image above.
Could This Be The Reverse Flash?
It also looks like the figure within this whirlwind of red electricity has red glowing eyes during one of the frames of the trailer, which could also indicate that this could actually be the Reverse Flash, as both Reverse Flash and Zoom (Dark Flash) have had major connections in various adaptations of the characters.
We won’t fully know until more confirming footage is revealed unless the team behind the movie decides to wait until the official release date that is.
