AMC Networks is officially attending this year’s New York Comic Con and they’re bringing the final episode of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon’s first season with them early, exclusively for audience members of next week’s panel.
It was just earlier this year that AMC had to change their plans for their SDCC 2023 The Walking Dead Universe panel due to the then-active WGA strike and ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.
Since then, however, the WGA’s strike has found a resolution with AMC additionally signing a deal with the SAG-AFTRA to resume production on certain The Walking Dead spinoffs throughout the ongoing strikes still being in full swing.
What does this mean for New York Comic Con? In summary, it means that AMC Networks and the team behind The Walking Dead franchise are far more able to talk about the franchise’s current spinoffs such as the second seasons of Daryl Dixon and Dead City, as well as talk about next year’s Rick Grimes and Michonne spinoff The Ones Who Live.
Walking Dead’s NYCC 2023 Panel Details
What’s been revealed so far about the upcoming The Walking Dead panel at this year’s New York Comic Con is that AMC Networks will be premiering the finale of the first Daryl Dixon season ahead of its slated release.
As per the official NYCC 2023 listing for the panel, it is described as follows:
“NYCC attendees will be the first to see The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season finale ahead of its airing on Sunday, October 15 at 9pm ET/8c on AMC and AMC+, followed by a Q&A with Chief Content Officer of the Walking Dead Universe Scott M. Gimple, Showrunner David Zabel and Executive Producer Greg Nicotero and moderated by Entertainment Weekly’s Dalton Ross.”

As described, CCO of The Walking Dead Universe Scott Gimple will also be in attendance, along with showrunner David Zabel and executive producer Greg Nicotero.
