Hollywood Studio projects may be on pause right now amid the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, however, AMC Networks has struck an agreement to resume production on several titles.
These titles include The Walking Dead spinoffs Daryl Dixon and The Ones Who Live, the latter being the Rick Grimes and Michonne spinoff series led by Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira.
AMC’s Interview with the Vampire will also resume production amid the ongoing strikes as per their new agreement made with the SAG-AFTRA.
Deadline shared the news that the agreement will only affect the three aforementioned shows as the agreement is specific to these three shows.
Daryl Dixon Season 2 Production
Despite the first season of the Norman Reedus-led spinoff series not yet being released as of writing this article, the second season had already begun production with Melissa McBride being confirmed to return as Carol.
Now that this agreement has been made, filming for the second season can now resume with members of the SAG-AFTRA included.
Deadline also took to confirm that filming for the second season will take place in Europe as the upcoming spinoff series is set in Paris, France.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon premieres on September 10 on AMC and AMC+.
The Ones Who Live Post-Production
News that The Ones Who Live had wrapped filming may seem like a contradiction at first, however, Deadline confirmed that the series still had some post-production work to be finished.
Although a second season has been rumoured to be in the works, production on such an instalment has not yet begun or been announced by AMC.
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live is set to premiere on AMC and AMC+ sometime in 2024, now with no major delay as post-prod can resume.
Interview with the Vampire Season 2 Production
Lastly, filming for the second season of Interview with the Vampire will also resume due to the new agreement between AMC Networks and SAG-AFTRA.
