Theo Rossi (Sons of Anarchy, Luke Cage) has joined the cast of DC‘s upcoming HBO Max series The Penguin, with details via Deadline that Rossi has been added to play a key role, starring alongside Colin Farrell. The new series will be set in the Matt Reeves Batman universe, following Reeves’ The Batman which starred both Robert Pattinson as the titular character and Colin Farrell as the iconic Batman villain, the Penguin also known as Oswald Cobblepot.
Details as to who Rossi is playing or what his involvement in the upcoming The Penguin series will entail are being kept tightly under wraps for the meantime, with Deadline solely reporting that Rossi has been cast in a key role. However, this will officially and canonically solidify Rossi’s place in Reeves’ The Batman universe along with the Marvel universe as Rossi also starred in Netflix’s Luke Cage.
HBO Max’s The Penguin is currently expected to release sometime in 2024 or 2025, it is currently being filmed and will be in production for some time, making a 2023 release now unexpected.
