Hugh Grant was confirmed at this year’s CinemaCon event to be playing an Oompa Loompa in the upcoming Wonka movie alongside Timothée Chalamet.

Chalamet stars as the titular Willy Wonka in this new reimagining of the iconic Roald Dahl’s 1964 tale Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Wonka is set to see Chalamet and his fellow cast bring the story to the world of musicals, something that has never been done on the big screen before.

New ‘Wonka’ Images Reveal Grant’s Ooompa Loompa!
It looks like Chalamet’s Wonka has potentially captured and trapped himself an Oompa Loompa, played by Grant as seen in the image above.
Grant’s Oompa Loompa seems to be much smaller in height compared to past Loompas seen in titles such as the 1971 movie Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005).
Calah Lane’s Wonka Character Revealed

Calah Lane (This Is Us) has been confirmed to be playing a character called Noodle who can be seen floating away in the first-look image above next to Chalamet’s Wonka.
People floating near Willy Wonka is no new sight with this image confirming that Chalamet’s Wonka will have some of his famous inventions already at hand.

Chalamet will be taking on the torch from past titular role players Gene Wilder and Johnny Depp who both starred in the past titles mentioned above.
Also starring alongside Chalamet and Grant includes cast members such as Keegan-Michael Key, Sally Hawkins, Rowan Atkinson, Matt Lucas, Ellie White, Jim Carter, Simon Farnaby, and Olivia Colman, among others.
Paddington and Paddington 2 director Paul King helms the new telling of the iconic chocolatier’s story.
Wonka releases in theatres on December 15, 2023.
