Spider-Man has a long, and hopefully, bright future in animation. We will explore MCU Spidey’s origin in Spider-Man: Freshman Year, and a second season for the same was confirmed at this year’s Comic-Con. He is set to return in Marvel Zombies as well. Almost a month ago, The Spectacular Spider-Man series started streaming on Disney+. Speaking of Spectacular, Josh Keaton is set to reprise his role from the series in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse!
While the animated projects are making fans nuts, the live-action projects have picked up their pace as well. After Spider-Man: No Way Home, the franchise hasn’t released anything sucessfull in nearly a year. Some upcoming movies set in the SSU are Kraven the Hunter, Madame Web, El Muerto and more. While nothing has been said about what’s next for Tom Holland in the MCU, a new report suggests he could be returning sooner than later.
Tom Holland Locks In Next Trilogy
I present before you; 3 insider sources. The Cosmic Circus, Jeff Sneider, and Culture Spider (EmberOnMain). Here’s what they said about the recent rumours (in the order of their respective
Not long after they reported that MCU and Insomniac Spider-Man would return in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Cosmic Circus and Lizzie Hill Co-tweeted a gif of Tom Holland saying, “That’s right, I’m Spider-Man!”.
Lizzie quoted the tweet, saying “hope Tom Holland is having a great day today!”
Based on this, people started speculating whether Tom might’ve signed a new contract with Sony, given that he might appear in Secret Wars. A few hours after Lizzie’s tweet, scooper @Culture_Spider on Twitter said: “New Tom Holland deal comin’ right up”, giving us context.
Speaking with John Rocha on The Hot Mic podcast, insider Jeff Sneider claimed that he heard rumors about Tom Holland closing a new Spider-Man deal two days before it got widely popular on the internet. Reminder that Jeff Sneider was the same person who reported about Harrison Ford as Thunderbolt Ross, as well as the Vision Quest series.
“I heard that two days before, you know, it started circling. The problem is, I want to save it for the podcast for Thursday.
Jeff Sneider on The Hot Mic
He said that Tom Holland “has closed the deal”. He also mentioned that “there is another trilogy for sure.” When Jeff reached out to Marvel for a comment on the rumours, he didn’t receive a response, which is quite common.
Alex Perez from The Cosmic Circus said that according to his sources, Tom Holland’s deal does not feature Disney+ Original appearances.
“Holland’s contract does not feature Disney+ appearances I’m being told. So if any “deal” out there includes an appearance in a Disney+ show, chances are it isn’t real.”

Exactly one month ago, The Cosmic Circus said that they heard rumors about Spider-Man 4 possibly handling the aftermath of Daredevil: Born Again. This led many of us to believe that our beloved webslinger might cameo in the Daredevil continuation. However, that was debunked by Alex Perez as “the deal wouldn’t cover a live-action Disney+ appearance.”
“The deal wouldn’t cover a live-action Disney+ appearance. Hopefully, the new deal would cover D+ appearances as an amendment, but that seems unlikely right now. Doesn’t mean Marvel can’t bring in Daredevil or Kingpin for SM4”
