Vision has had quite a character journey in the MCU. Made as an amalgam of Ultron and J.A.R.V.I.S’s AI, Vision was completely different from either of them and successfully eliminated Ultron. He sacrificed himself in Infinity War and was resurrected twice in WandaVision, after which he died again. I know, quite a journey. After our beloved Hex-Vision restored the real Vision’s memories, he flew out of the Westview library, his last words being “I am Vision.” We have yet to see what happened to him after these events and looks like the wait is over….only for us to wait a few more years.
Vision-Centric Series Gets A Writers’ Room Next Week
Yesterday, on The Hot Mic podcast, Industry insider Jeff Sneider shared new details about upcoming Marvel projects such as Fantastic Four, Blade, and more. Keep in mind that Sneider was the one who broke the news of Harrison Ford portraying General Thunderbolt Ross in Thunderbolts.
He revealed that Marvel Studios and Disney+ are working on a Vision-centric series named Vision Quest and that a writers’ room for the series would open next week:
“I’m told that next week, Marvel will be opening a writers’ room for a Vision show titled ‘Vision Quest’.
Jeff Sneider
Sneider stated that he did some research into the comic storyline by the same name. When asked by the co-host, John Rocha, if the series would be based on the events of the comics, Sneider said that he “doesn’t know if it would be that storyline.”
He further reaffirmed that this scoop is “coming from a good source who has been accurate in the past.”
What Could Be The Plot Of ‘Vision Quest’?
Vision Quest was an eleven-issue Avengers West Coast story arc. In the storyline, Vision was dismantled by government agents, after which he was reassembled by Dr. Hank Pym (Who will appear in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania). The Vision Dr. Pym assembled was white in color, and didn’t retain memories from his past. This led to him becoming emotionless and separating from Wanda.
However, you must’ve already noticed that most of these events already took place during WandaVision, one way or the other. It is interesting to ponder how Marvel plans to continue Vision’s arc in the MCU, while also being inspired by the comics. Note that Kevin Feige isn’t actually obligated to put out a 1:1 carbon copy of the comics, as we’ve explored most of Vision Quest in the first MCU Disney+ series.
