Spider-Man No Way Home introducing Marvel’s Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) to the MCU has left us Daredevil fans wondering, where will we see him next? Well I have been keeping an ear out and having a look around and I have a couple theories that I would put money on.
Quick Recap Time
Matt Murdock is one of Marvel’s top-tier crime-fighting lawyers. Charlie Cox (actor) portrayed Matt Murdock in Marvel’s “Daredevil” on Netflix for a considerable number of years. However, Cox never officially appeared in an MCU movie due to the studio keeping the two properties separate… well until Spider-Man No Way Home that is.
Now, let’s have a look at the upcoming MCU projects that Cox will most likely be appearing in.
Marvel Lawyers United
She-Hulk isn’t first on my list but it would make sense due to the nature of her profession. She-Hulk’s real name is Jennifer Walters, who is also a lawyer in the Marvel universe too. If you were like me and watched all of the Defenders’ shows on Netflix. Then you will know that Marvel is no stranger to including little cameos in the legal world of the MCU.
There have been reports that Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones, Netflix, will be making an appearance in She-Hulk. However a little cheeky cameo from Cox’s Matt Murdock wouldn’t surprise me either, or at least a cameo from say, Franklin Nelson.
Why? They are all lawyers in New York City, nuff said.
Don’t Always See… Eye To Eye
Marvel’s Echo/ Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox) is obviously the number one choice for Daredevil to next appear. I am 100% convinced that the Echo series coming to Disney will include Charlie Cox as not only a cameo, but as a main character throughout the show. Also, spoiler alert, Kingpin will undoubtedly be returning to the Echo series too. The hints and clues alone that the MCU have given us:
- A huge Echo/ Daredevil storyline was initiated in Marvel’s Hawkeye, with the amazing return of Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin (Daredevil’s main antagonist from Netflix).
- The fact that they put Cox’s Murdock in Spider-Man No Way Home, highlighted his abilities and left us hanging wanting more. Peter Parker also asking “how did you do that?” towards Murdock may also be a hint that the MCU isn’t quite done answering that question yet.
Marvel Studios’ Team Red
Now this may be a long shot, although with how crazy the MCU has been these past few years… you never know.
With Marvel and Sony confirming that they are developing more Spidey flicks. Adding this to the list is a no-brainer, even Charlie Cox himself has confirmed that he would love to do a Daredevil x Spider-Man storyline in the MCU.
Although, I don’t think this will be Charlie Cox’s next MCU project. I do however believe he could play a part in the next Spider-Man trilogy.
