She-Hulks season one is officially over, with the finale now streaming on Disney Plus for everyone to watch. The amount of easter eggs, direct mentions, and special appearances during the finale was beyond insane. However, Jennifer Walters did storm into the Marvel Studios herself and demanded for a custom ending. Which brought breaking the fourth wall to a whole new level of meta.
Now although we got a literal X-Men mention and a second appearance from both Matt Murdock and Daredevil, we want to talk about Skaar.
Who Is Marvel’s Skaar – Brief Explanation
You might remember a funny little planet called Sakaar, the trash dump created by Marvel’s Grandmaster. Well, Hulk didn’t just spend his time fighting while living on Sakaar, he also had a child both in the comics and now in the MCU.
In the comics, Skaar is the son of his father Hulk and his mother Caiera the Oldstrong. Caiera belonged to a rare race born on Sakaar, known as the shadow people, but who knows where the MCU will go with that storyline. Hulk and Caiera have quite a bit of history together on Sakaar, in the comics anyway. They were married to each other before Hulk left the planet, so MCU’s Hulk could potentially be a husband too.
However, Hulk never abandoned his family, he originally believed them to be dead which causes Hulk to return to Earth in the first place. Thor: Ragnarok does seem to alter that storyline somewhat though due to Thor being the reason that Bruce Banner and Hulk leave Sakaar. We’re just going to have to wait and see what the MCU has in store, but judging by Skaar’s introduction, they may possibly be going in a similar direction.
Who Is Playing Skaar In She-Hulk?
Will Deusner has officially been cast as Skaar, for She-Hulk anyway, who you might recognise from Stargirl. Deusner hasn’t had a huge announcement as of yet, but you can expect one soon once the spoiler period is over for the finale.
In the comics, Skaar is a usually in a Hulk form but does harness the ability to transform into a human boy. Will Deusner does seem to be a good choice to play an on screen son to Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner. Where will we see Skaar next, we don’t know, possibly a World War Hulk storyline?!
Now that we have multiple Hulks in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it is clear that they finally want to do more storylines from the Hulk comics. World War Hulk has been one of the most requested storylines from the fans since, well probably since Hulk got his first movie. It is pretty clear that they are going somewhat in that direction, could we maybe get a second Hulk movie in the MCU?
